Japanese test for Naturalization?

Becoming a Japanese citizen requires a certain skill level of speaking, reading, and writing. When applying for naturalization, the applicant is required to take a Japanese language test if deemed necessary in an interview with the Legal Affairs Bureau. In recent years, due to stricter examinations, they are more likely to conduct a Japanese language test. Many of applicants are able to speak Japanese well but are not good at reading and writing. Our specialized method helps proficient speakers who need to quickly boost their reading and writing skills for the test.

You need to know :

  • It is completely different from the mark sheet type exam like JLPT.
  • You will be asked to convert characters and read some Japanese paragraphs.
  • Preparation for an interview is also necessary.
  • You will be required to read a written oath to comply with the law as a Japanese citizen.

Curriculum

The most important thing in Japanese language test for naturalization is making no mistakes. Even if you speak fluent Japanese, one small mistake can cause fail. Applicants are often asked to convert characters, read kanji, and read an oath. In our lessons, you will do a variety of excercises, from writing and reading characters to catching fully what is asked in interview and answering the questions smoothly, so that you can refine your language skills necessary for the test.

Reading
  • Read kanji characters taught in the first, second, and third grade at Japanese elementary school
  • Read and understand fully the content of 200-300 characters articles
  • Practice answering questions about the articles
  • Read and understand fully an oath
Writing
  • Write kanji characters taught in the first, second, and third grade at Japanese elementary school
  • Practice converting characters (eg. 「を」→「ヲ」, 「ヌ」→「ぬ」)
  • Write short essays about yourself
Listening & Speaking
  • Catch every single word in what is asked in interview
  • Give appropriate answers to interview questions in proper accents and intonations
  • Read out an oath in proper pronunciation, accents, and intonations, without any mistakes
