MJI is a Japanese language school specializing in business communication. We have more than 25 years of experience teaching at multinational organizations in and around Tokyo, from global law firms to cutting-edge IT companies. Our courses are intensive, dynamic, practical, and skills-based. Our teachers can offer grammar and culture explanations in English, if preferred, so that even complete beginners can feel comfortable. Upper level lessons are for ambitious individuals who want to communicate more effectively in a professional context.

Beginner level lessons start with basic vocabulary and grammar, with explanations in English to help you feel comfortable and learn quickly. We use practical business vocabulary and grammar, even at beginner levels, to keep your motivation high. Our original textbook depicts a variety of common business situations. We can combine language with cross-cultural experience lessons to assist you in integrating into Japanese business society.

Intermediate level lessons aim for you to acquire grammar and vocabulary for smooth and effective business communication at your office. Expand your range of expressions and have the ability to express your thoughts precisely. Two of our original textbooks, Functional Business Japanese and How to write emails, will help you learn very useful business set phrases and formats to write emails in proper Japanese. We can also practice business presentations and discussions to give you the confidence to participate in meetings.
At the end of this level, you will be able to :
MJI takes special pride in our Advanced Level classes. Our well-qualified teachers can tailor lessons to suit your industry and business for conferences, presentations, and negotiations. Our original textbook, "Case Study" will boost your communication skills and help you express your viewpoints in appropriately polite Japanese. The final goal is to communicate like native Japanese speakers, and participate actively at the forefront of the Japanese business world.
