Becoming a Japanese citizen requires a certain skill level of speaking, reading, and writing. When applying for naturalization, the applicant is required to take a Japanese language test if deemed necessary in an interview with the Legal Affairs Bureau. In recent years, due to stricter examinations, they are more likely to conduct a Japanese language test. Many of applicants are able to speak Japanese well but are not good at reading and writing. Our specialized method helps proficient speakers who need to quickly boost their reading and writing skills for the test.

MJI instructors have been trained in offering grammar and cultural explanations in English, so you will understand quickly and have more time to practice. Our unique method of teaching characters will also help you enjoy learning hiragana, katakana, and kanji.
Our original textbooks cover characters, vocabularies, phrases, and grammer that appear in Japanese literature textbooks in the first, second, and third grade at Japanese elementary school. There are no textbooks or reference books for naturalization test at book stores, so our textbooks should be helpful.
Japanese Course for Naturalization is offerred online. You can choose between online private lessons and online group lessons. Please feel free to choose the best lesson style you would prefer.
The most important thing in Japanese language test for naturalization is making no mistakes. Even if you speak fluent Japanese, one small mistake can cause fail. Applicants are often asked to convert characters, read kanji, and read an oath. In our lessons, you will do a variety of excercises, from writing and reading characters to catching fully what is asked in interview and answering the questions smoothly, so that you can refine your language skills necessary for the test.
